Porter is an adorable and social cat who was recently rescued by FURR and is now in a loving foster home. Here's a summary of his characteristics and background:
Personality: Porter is social, confident, and fun-loving. He enjoys being where the action is and follows his foster family around to ensure he doesn't miss out on any fun. He's not shy about interacting with everyone and likes to be picked up to sit on laps or near people when no games are being played!
Playful Nature: Porter loves playing with toys, enjoys hiding in his cat tunnel to surprise passersby, and watching nature through windows or on cat TV.
Good Habits: Porter is well-trained, using his litter box and scratching pad appropriately. He's also friendly to houseguests and gets along well with the foster family's dog and cat. He tried jumping on the kitchen counters but with a little training, he now knows that is off limits in his foster home. Porter communicates clearly with his flashy tail movements when he is overstimulated and prefers not to be petted or picked up. If his warning sign is ignored, he will gently nip or swat.
Social but Playful: While Porter is social and playful, he might not be the best fit for another cat (or dog) who is shy or prefers solitude. He likes to include everyone in playtime whether or not they want to be included!
Rescue Background: Porter was rescued after being left outside to fend for himself on the Easton streets. He is very appreciative of having a loving and safe environment.
Location: Porter is currently being fostered near Califon, NJ.
Health and Care: Porter is 2 years old, fully vetted, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on shots, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. He was treated for fleas and worms as a precaution.
