Mikey and Roz were found outside as small kittens by a wonderful family who took them to the emergency vet and started medication for their severe, previously untreated, upper respiratory infection. Their care continued when they were transferred to their current foster home with FURR, but unfortunately they did not have any vision. They've had many vet checks and entropian and enucleation surgery (shout out to the awesome Dr. Jenna at FURR Fix!) and are now ready to find their forever home. They will not need any different vet care than a normal cat would.
Many will feel sorry for them, but they've already proved - no eyeballs, no problem! -finding the food dish? Our sniffers are top notch... wet and dry, we eat it all. We aren't picky with flavors and also love treat time. -using the litter box? We never miss... we have no problems getting in and out of the box. -cuddling? We'll find your lap, your hand, your back, your face... if you're sitting on the floor, laying in bed, or on the couch. No worries, we cuddle it all! -play time? The only time we're not playing is when we're sleeping. Springs are our #1 fav (Mikey may even have a slight spring aggression issue), but any other jingly ball, rattle mouse, another cat, twist-tie, or ball of paper will do. Admittedly, we can't follow that elusive red dot, BUT - we will chase around your other cats that are following it. ;o) -getting around the house? We have full-reign at our foster house and get around the house in each room with no issues. We easily get on and off the couch and beds. -biscuits? We could open a French bakery! We get purring and get in that zone and we'll make biscuits anywhere- your cheek, on your arm, on a nice soft blanket- we aren't picky. -stairs? We've encountered stairs a couple times when we were younger to the finished basement in our foster home and had no issues. Just give us a couple days and I'm sure we'd master them with no issues. -scratching? We easily find the tall sisal scratching posts to scratch and stretch on, and don't scratch on the furniture. The cardboard scratchers are also great. Cutting our nails isn't our favorite thing, but our foster mom will clip a few at a time when we're napping or it can be easily done as a 2-person job.
Mikey is a playful boy and also a cuddler. His fur is SO soft. Roz is a little less rambunctious, but still has that playful kitten energy. She's also the first one to find your lap and enjoy your company. They get along with the other adult cats and human children (ages 2 and 8) in their foster home. Both are always out and about and involved in everyday life. Mikey and Roz must be adopted together, and are ready to show their forever family just how "special" they are. If you'd like more information about them or have specific questions, feel free to reach out and we can give you the contact information for their foster mom.
